It’s Official, Imagekind Raises $2.6 Million
We have closed our $2.6 million Series A round of financing, and the future is looking pretty bright for Imagekind, artists, and art lovers the world over. You can read our formal announcement here.
For some more in-depth insight into our experience raising this money, and our plans for it, check out Kelly’s post over at Curious Office.
This closing has already had some coverage around the web, so if you’re interested in other points of view on the announcement, check here, here, and here.

Will you be sharing with us some of what this money will be used for –
Also, what is the interest of the Holtzbrinck Ventures in investing in Imagekind – are they interested in publishing books on the artist and if so are the fees and rights for such books negotiable?
Verlagsgruppe Georg con Holtzbrinck – the parent compnay of Holtzbrinck Ventures is a privately held family business – how does this effect the relationship between them – the Imagekind Company and the artists?
In light of this new funding, how much say will Getty Images have in this particular situation?
Will Imagekind be going public eventually?
Hi Walter,
I’m Kelly Smith’s wife and I wanted to respond as I know Kelly likes to be very response to the Imagekind blog.
Kelly is unable to respond at this time due to a health issue. I will alert him of your questions and you’ll probably hear back in a week or two.
More details to come and thanks for your interest.
Trish
