A new reason to customize your frame and mat design

Did you know that in your My Account area you can customize the design of your mat and frame? This not only makes your print presentation look better on-screen, but also helps promote sales of mats and frames for which you earn commission.

To help out further, we’ve recently added this new link that says “Buy as the artist intended” which just loads YOUR design right into the shopping cart. Shoppers often have a hard time knowing how to design a mat and frame combination, so your assistance can make all the difference in prompting that sale… and your commission.

This is an interesting feature and concept but I probably like too many choices myself to necessarily narrow things down for a customer who may not like my choice(s) at all and may disike the image if they see it with my choices as opposed to their trial and error efforts ~

just a thought – we’ll see as time goes on and I do some experiments -

What a fantastic idea! I love that we can now steer potential clients to the way WE want our art displayed. Way to go IK!!!!!

I think these are great reasons to customize our frame and mat designs for truly they do make our print presentations look much better on-screen.

    Wonderful!

The new link: “Buy as the artist intended.” will definitely be very helpful and encouraging for our shoppers.

    Well done.

I forgot to mention that commissions on mats and frames is 15%…the highest in the industry. I’m really anxious that this feature will help out if artists will really help the shoppers decide what looks good. This is what they struggle with!!

I love this idea, especially if it helps the customers and makes it easier for them to buy.

    Very Nice,
but I woulld like to either see the lettering bigger or have a button just like the other two options.
I didn’t notice the feature earlier when going through the checkout process to see what it was like.

    Some food for thought:

When looking at a piece to purchase it does seem a bit confusing with the “custom frame” button and “frame it” button. It seems that they would be different but they’re not, they both take you to the same place.

As someone buying I would probably click on both thinking there was a difference, just to notice they were the same and feeling like I wasted my time with another needless click though.

I like the new ‘Buy As The Artusts Intended’ feature because it really brings the buyer more “in touch” with the artist – makes them feel like they are buying something personal to the artist, and not just some “nameless, faceless piece of art”…do you know what I mean? It just adds a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to the buying experience…IMHO anyway!

    I definately agree with Dicci.

I wen in as if I were a buyer yesterday, KNOWING buyers could choose to buy our own frame/etc selections, and I only saw the two big buttons.

Those two are also a bit confusing…
‘custom frame’ is mostly clear… although I’d prefer a ‘100% clear version’ more like:
“Choose your own frame and matting for this image!”
What is ‘Buy a print’? however?
Is it just “Buy as a print only, with no Framing or matting?”

Yesterday I read that option as ‘buy as you see here in your choice of sizes’.

    Thanks!!!!!
