No Jokes! Time for Some REAL New Features!

OK, so maybe we were so excited about all of the new stuff we are nearly finished developing here at Imagekind that we hastily rolled out Sunday’s idea – I don’t think the market is quite ready for that particular paradigm shift. But we’ll see what kind of semi-revolutionary changes we can make around here in the meantime. We have a lot to show you in the next few weeks, so we thought why not get it started Friday morning (Pacific Standard Time) with a brand new, redesigned, and re-thought Artist Member Admin!
When you login to your Imagekind account on Friday, you might be surprised to find the elves at Imagekind have been busy working away on the layout of your admin section of the website. Our hip new admin is designed with the artist in mind. Your user experience matters to us! Whether you are simply opening up a new gallery, managing multiple galleries, upgrading your account, or checking on your sales, we are sure that the new admin will make it a better process.
Some Key New Admin Features
- Reports page allows you to quickly see your most recent views, comments, and sales
- Internal message system allows you to easily communicate with other artists and customers
- Clean interface makes administration of your account a better user experience
- You can choose the image to represent your gallery, and change it at will
- Galleries now appear to the public in order of most recently updated
- Conveniently located tips and related content for each page on the sidebar
We are still working on re-launching the ability to arrange your images… but it will be available very soon! Take this opportunity to ensure that your images are in the order you want for the short future.
New Limits to HTML Code in Profiles and Descriptions
We’re adding some security precautions to the site. We will be limiting some of the HTML code that we allow in the member profile and descriptions. The change will go into effect with this new member admin launch, on Friday morning. Never fear, you still can use the following codes on your site:
br, big, b, small, strong, p, center, a, i, img.
If you happen to have any other than the ones listed above, keep your profile looking great by coming up with alternative HTML formatting before the change is made.
Lots more fun stuff to come as the days go on – hope you enjoy!

Wonderful news!
I like these words, “Our hip new admin is designed with the artist in mind. Your user experience matters to us!â€
As I greatly enjoy writing comments on the works of my fellow artists, it would be really nice if we were also able to use the ‘br’ html tag in the comment boxes. Appearance being as important as content. Up to lately it was possible to do so.
Looking forward to enjoying these new features and more.
Richard
Hi Team IK,
I’m really looking forward to seeing the new admin features! It sounds like the changes have been really well thought out, and developed in response to artist feedback…thank you.
On a slightly different note (I know it’s not an admin feature as such), but I’d like to see more space dedicated to gallery thumbnails on our profile pages, and less space for the fan list. It would be great if 6-8 gallery thumbnails were available to view, which we could then rotate whenever we wanted in order to keep our profile pages looking fresh.
Thanks for listening – we really do appreciate the hard work you all are putting into the development of IK (soon to be the market leader, no doubt!)
Thanks,
Tanya
Can’t wait to see the new features in the admin area though deep inside I wish there had been a tad bit more notice about having to change our HTML coding.
Great job, I love the new look! Maybe your next task will be more detailed traffic reports? Thanks again for everything you do for us!
I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the new look and the new features. I can tell that I will certainly be spending much more time and effort listing my works here on Imagekind opposed to other sites. Every improvement so far is just that – an improvement. Bravo to the Imagekind team!
Great job on the new admin design! Keep up the good work!
I love the new interface! The added functionality and ease of navigation is great, and the PayPal feature will make a big difference to a lot of artists not resident in the US – thank you!
My only reservation is the reporting side of things…the new report section is very clear but does not allow us to make external marketing decisions in the same way that Statcounter/Google Analytics allowed us to do – for example, helping us to make the decision to concentrate our marketing efforts at A or at B, depending on which method is generating more traffic etc.
As someone else pointed out on another forum, there might be a way of incorporating Statcounter/Google Analytics into the new interface (and we would each supply IK with our relevant ID), and thereby giving us the best of both worlds: in-depth stats and a truly cool new interface. I know you guys have a million things on your mind, and are working night and day, so this is just a suggestion for some point in the future!
In the meantime, huge thumbs up to Team IK, and a big thank you too…
Tanya
Oops! I didn’t make it so you could link back to me!
Once again! Thanks!
These improvements are a fantastic quantum leap in a positive direction !!!!-
So far it makes working in my administration area a million times easier
thank you!
Walter
Overall I like the new member admin and I can see that it will be easier for the IK team to add functionality in the longer run. I’m looking forward to some more traffic reporting in the future.
Well done guys and thanks for looking out for us.
