Artists, Meet the Decorators

Hey artists, you know getting your art on the wall is what were all about here at Imagekind, and one way were doing that is by connecting with interior decorators across the US and Canada. To be honest, it’s a little tricky.

Interior designers are fine knit network themselves, but we’re making great progress to get your independent artwork noticed. We know that through these connections, Imagekind and it’s members not only become a valuable resource for decorators, but we address a crucial step in creating a better online community where your art is rightly connected to the people who truly enjoy it.

Thanks to increasingly popular home makeover shows, the call for home and interior decorators seems to have increased exponentially over the past few years. In addition, not only has the profession spread, it has become increasingly more specialized as well. The traditional decorator (as we imagine one might typify them) still exists. However, many have begun to incorporate elements of two other trends within home decorating: interior redesign and home staging. We won’t flood you with details here, but these studies are worth a little bit of research for anyone interested in these expanding fields, and certainly intriguing movements in the design industry.

Imagekind is gaining exposure and we are happy to get your art out there and recognized in these areas where the value of buying art in our marketplace is truly seen. What do we need from you? Little! You’re doing an amazing job as it is! Just keep creating and sharing what inspires you, and think about the different ways that a service like ours can benefit all kinds of art buyers you interact with while working as an artist. With Imagekind, decorators can browse your artwork online with their clients, providing that highly trained and keen eye for design, with a huge range of artwork and finishing options to explore.

So next time you watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and you see that designer hanging something on a wall, think of us! We’re working for you.

Excellent piece of info. This is another venue for all of us. Thanks IK Team, few of us really know how much time & effort this kind of management accomplishment takes. Now to perfect the Search machine.

I think it is a wonderful idea to connect interior decorators with ImageKind artists! While I love to sell my museum quality fine art prints one at a time, I would be glad to sell a batch of them to a decorator doing a Charlotte office building or Tampa corporate headquarters. When I was a TV producer, I frequently worked with interior designers as set decorators. Everyone I worked with had a great eye for color. If you’ve ever done any community theater, you know that most set designers are fine artists too. They are EXACTLY the kind of person I want as a fan.

    These are great insights!

Walter – thanks for the encouragement!

Rich – Thanks a lot, were trying our best to get you recognized, keep telling your fans where they can get your prints!

Rodney – Great ideas! If you have any decorating contacts who are looking for volume artwork, maybe we can set up a deal on some frames.

    Thanks again!

Very nice and well.. But please provide suitable and functioning tools for professional image buyers to dig the mine on IK. til now IK presents member art work more like a huge disorganised and unaccessable pile of everything. As long as your so called “advanced search” machine is unable to perform the simple distinction between photography and paintings/drawings I don´t see much of a chance to meet a professional decorator on IK. Among others this topic has been adressed by members for weeks and months now….
