“I love your interactive website”
I just wanted to say how incredibly impressed I am with your product. I am a debut author–my first novel hits shelves this June. I always knew when I finally succeeded that I would want a framed poster-size print of my cover. It took some googling, but I found Imagekind.com. I love your interactive website– I was able to see just what my frame, matte, and print would look like together, which was wonderful. The box arrived via fed-ex on Friday. It was well-packaged to ensure that it wouldn’t break. The print is beautiful–crystal clear–and the matte and frame are top-notch. You even included everything I needed to hang it! It was up on the wall within five minutes of unpacking it.
I’m an Imagekind customer from now on! And I’ll recommend you to all of my author-friends who want prints of THEIR cover. In fact, I blogged about it–with pictures.

Want to sell your artwork on Imagekind, but not sure how to get it into a digital format for uploading?
Lar Matre, wrote a very helpful blog post recently on how to properly photograph your artwork to create digital files for reproduction. I first read his post in one of our groups.
Lar breaks down the process into two main tasks:
- The capture – actually taking the photo of your work
- Post processing – cleaning up your digital image for print
Photographing your artwork for the purpose of creating digital images can be a difficult process if you are not familiar with what’s involved. However, one of the most important things to remember is your setup. Below is a good example of how to correctly setup your equipment to photograph your artwork.
Here is what Lar suggests:
You should be able to set your camera about 15-20-feet away from your painting — as the painting gets larger, so does the distance required. You use the zoom lens to fill almost the entire frame with your painting. The edges of your painting should be parallel to the viewfinder. If the edge of the painting looks curved, you need to move back.
Lar goes into great detail about all the recommended equipment you’ll need, processes and procedures. His suggestions are worth a read if you are at all wondering how to photograph your artwork for digital reproduction.

Now it’s easier than ever to find exactly the art print you want! With Imagekind Search Filtering you can narrow your search by medium, size, subject, genre, and more; even orientation!
Start searching to shop for art.
Search Filtering relies on artists’ categorization of their artwork on Imagekind. Based on the account type, artists can classify their artwork through a series of options; including tags and taxonomy.
So, if you’re an artist selling your artwork on Imagekind, make sure you have the correct taxonomy set for each image. You can find the categorization options in your admin under every image. To learn more about how to set your tags and taxonomy, visit the Imagekind Member Forums.
This is just the first of several improvements we hope to be making to the search feature in the coming months. Check back often and stay tuned as we continue to refine how you shop for art.
Search Filtering is one more way we continue to make Imagekind the best community for buying, selling and creating art.
