May 15th, 2009 nate 1 comment

It’s Friday! And with Friday comes my Friday Favorites. This week you’ll see how Imagekind is making a difference in the interior design community by connecting designers with the independent member artists on Imagekind. Also, take a look at a fascinating artist I found who is selling a very unique style of nature and world art.

Check it out!

Imagekind Artwork on Ava Living

Ava Living, the “thriving global community of interior design enthusiasts” has teamed up with Imagekind to offer their interior design community members the opportunity to purchase framed artwork for their interior design projects and clients. Their mission is to “[help] connect those who are passionate about the various aspects of interior design with professionals in the field.” One way they do this is through their Designer Room Review service, where anyone can “get personalized attention in a written review of your room from a professional designer.” See the ad for this service below.

Day Seriani and Pangaea Art.

I am always on the lookout for inspiring art and when I came across Day Seriani’s work on Imagekind, I was quite blown away. What’s really compelling about Seriani’s work is how she overlays images of nature, the earth and places where people and animals inhabit, onto various portraits that may, or may not, represent that land. Check out her work and you’ll see what I mean. It is an inspiring and unique form of art that I have not seen done in such a way before. Fascinating.

In any case, check out some of the cool happenings around Imagekind every Friday on the blog.

A Tip on Selling your Art: Find an Audience

April 15th, 2009 nate 5 comments

So, you want to sell more art, but you’re not sure how or where to begin?

One of the most important aspects of selling your artwork online, is having an audience. Imagekind is doing this. We are creating an audience of art lovers to buy, sell and create art.

However, cultivating your own audience is extremely beneficial.

And, it’s not even as hard as you might think. In fact, one of the best ways to create an audience, is to find people who already love your style of work. For example, member artist James Provost has been getting some nice recognition lately in the interior design community with his Imagekind prints. Why? It’s because he has a style of art that already matches an audience: mid-century furniture design and decorating.

Now, here’s the tip: find online audiences who already love your style and ask them if they are willing to help promote your artwork.

Have a niche? That’s often the best place to start.

Blogs are perfect for this. And getting this kind of recognition is not always as hard as you might think. But, before you start trying to submit your art to blogs, it might be helpful to read these dos and don’ts first.

Need more help? What about this:

Love dog art? Well, I know for sure there are more than just a few dog blogs out there…
